August 23, 1932 – January 2, 2025

Clayton Arlo Brown, 92, of Randolph, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025 at UPMC Chautauqua Hospital in Jamestown.

He was born August 23, 1932 in Conewango, NY, the son of the late Gerald Orlo and Doris Izabelle (Mett) Brown.

Clayt attended Conewango Grade School and entered the United States Army on December 5, 1952 during the Korean War, where he served as a Corporal and received his honorable discharge on June 23, 1954.

He retired in 1993 from Jamestown Metal Products and had worked for many years at the former Borden, Inc. in Randolph. He had also worked for 18 years at the former Jamestown Lounge Furniture Works.

He was a member of the Randolph American Legion Post 181 and the Randolph Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 6533. Clayt maintained and manicured his lawn and enjoyed landscaping his property. He also enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, hunting and bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann (Easterly) Brown, whom he married on May 3, 1980 in Ellington, a daughter; Jacqueline (Angel) Guardiola of Texas, a step son; Donald (Vickie) Breemes of SC, a grandson; Marteen Guardiola of Texas, five great grandchildren, a brother Leone Brown of Bloomfield, KY, two sisters; Althea Herrington of Perrysburg and Selva Thompson of Ohio, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents, an infant son; Jeffrey Brown, a brother Harlow Brown, and four sisters; Arbutus Ortolano, Verlene Green, Oleta Brown, Arminta Brown-Taylor, Nita Silliman, Roberta Barber and Beatrice Swanson

The family would like to especially thank the VA and the Nurses and Aides at UPMC Chautauqua for all their love, care and attention to Clayt and his family.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 10, 2025 from the Pine Grove Cemetery, 2431 Gowanda Zoar Road in Gowanda, NY. The Rev. Marc Loranger will officiate.
