Helen L. Perugini, beloved mother, grandmother and teacher

Sarasota, FL- Helen L. Perugini, formerly of Olean, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in Sarasota, FL. after a short illness.

Helen was born on May 13, 1934 in Olean. She was the daughter of the late William Stewart and Mary Louise Ketcham Love. In 1960, in St. John’s Church in Olean, she married Angelo Perugini, who predeceased her in 2008.

Helen graduated from Olean High School in 1952, and received her Bachelor’s degree in 1956 from Michigan State University. She was a science teacher for 30 years, most of which were spent in Olean Schools. Helen enjoyed traveling, reading and volunteering for community and church causes, and at St. Bonaventure. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Olean Community Orchestra for several years.

Helen is survived by her children, Lorraine (Byron) Konschuh of Lapeer, MI. and Christopher V. Perugini of Sarasota, FL.; her grandsons, Colin and Ethan Konschuh; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Angelo; her parents, Stewart and Louise; and son, Timothy S. Perugini.

A memorial service will be held at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc. 1303 E. State St. Olean. Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11am. Rev. Dr. Bruce Levine from the Olean First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
