The Salamanca Girls Varsity soccer team opened their season yesterday with a 1-4 home loss to Port Allegany. Coach Kirsten Furlong praised the Lady Warriors for putting a great deal of pressure on the Gators as they recorded 11 shots on goal. Furlong also felt her team moved with ball well and credited them with a number of excellent passes.
The Warriors now look to the Andrea Morton Tournament this Saturday at Vets Park in Salamanca.
