St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team accepts NIT invite, hosts Kent State in first round

ST. BONAVENTURE — The postseason has returned to the Reilly Center.

The St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team has officially accepted an invitation to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and is set to play host to Kent State in the first round on March 18 at 7 p.m.

After having taken a hiatus from the tournament last season, the Bonnies are among the field of 32 teams which includes five of their peers from the Atlantic 10 Conference: Dayton, Saint Joseph’s, Saint Louis, George Mason and Loyola Chicago.

Bona was drawn into the San Francisco region, as the Dons earned the region’s overall No. 1 seed. Stanford was named the No. 2 seed, Bona the No. 3 seed and San Jose State the No. 4 seed in the region, each earning hosting rights as a result.

Also in the San Francisco region is Utah Valley, Loyola Chicago, and CSUN.
